Interlibrary Loan Conditions

This service is generally free. However, some libraries may charge fees for lending, photocopying and other services. This service may take anywhere from one to six weeks from time of order to receipt of material.
  • The general borrowing period for interlibrary loan materials is six weeks.

  • Renewals are at the discretion of the lending library.

  • Many libraries do not share their audio-visual materials.

  • Overdue fines are $1.00 per day.

Interlibrary loan privileges may be suspended if fines or damages to other library's materials are excessive. Your library account with Rideau Lakes must also be in good standing. If a book is damaged or lost the patron will be charged the rate of replacement as per the lending library's policy. Interloan privileges can be limited or revoked at our discretion.

Loan periods are determined by the lending library. If a renewal is required please contact the library several days before the given due date.
