Ontario Public Library Week: Oct 15-22
Please come in for some cookies and drinks to celebrate our library with us. As well, don't forget we are doing Food4Fines this week. Bring in a non-perishable item for the food bank and we'll forgive your library fines!

FOOD4FINES
Clean out your cupboards and clean-up your fines. From Monday, October 17 to Saturday, October 22, all branches of the Library will be accepting non-perishable food donations in exchange for library fines (up to $25). All items collected will be donated to our local foodbanks.

Libraries Will Launch Digital Archive
Rideau Lakes and Leeds and the 1000 Islands Public Libraries are launching their digital archive on June 2. Please drop by at the Lyndhurst Branch from 4-8 p.m. on June 2 to see the exciting photographs and documents our partners have shared with us. Light refreshments will be served.

Free Museum Passes
Free family passes to the Museum of Civilization and the Canadian War Museum are now available at the Rideau Lakes Public Library. Please phone or visit the Library for more information.

New Ancestry Database
Library patrons are now able to access the Ancestry Library Edition database free of charge inside the Library. This online database allows library users to start exploring their family trees by simply typing in a surname. A two-year subscription for this resource is courtesy of the Ministry of Culture, Southern Ontario Library Service and Ontario Library Service - North.

Please Note: You must be inside the Library to access this database.

Every second Tuesday at 4:15 p.m. on our local f.m. radio station, CHLK Lake 88.1 in Perth, Sue Warren will recommend two books. You may find these either at your local library or on Interlibrary loan.

Lifelong Learning Initiative Gearing Up for Fall!
We welcome Marnie Ross to our Lakes and Islands Lifelong Learning Project! Marnie comes to us with professional teaching education and experience specializing in leadership and hands-on work with literacy. She was awarded the first ever Innovation in Teaching award from the Upper Canada District School Board.
